JUST TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF HOW SELECT THIS IS, THERE'S ABOUT 1.5 MILLION ENTRANCE AND OF THAT, ONLY 34,000 STUDENTS ACTUALLY RECEIVED THE LETTER OF COMMENDATION, AND SO IT'S A REALLY BIG HONOR FOR THE STUDENTS.

I'M GOING TO PASS IT OVER TO ADVANCED ACADEMIC COORDINATOR LAYPERSON AS WELL SO SHE CAN HONOR THESE STUDENTS.

WE WANT TO CONGRATULATE, WE HAVE MORE THAN 20 FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVING THE NATIONAL HISPANIC RECOGNITION AWARD FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING PSAT SCORES.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS AWARD, THE STUDENTS MUST HAVE A GPA OF 3.5 OR HIGHER AND SCORE THE TOP 10 PERCENT OF THE PSAT WITHIN THE PROGRAM BY THE STATE.

EARLY FALL AND EARLY SPRING AND WE WERE REALLY BUSY AND INUNDATED WITH THE PHONE CALLS AND THE PAPERWORK AND THE DOCUMENTATION, TRYING TO STAY ON TOP OF IT FOR EVERYBODY FOR ATTENDANCE PURPOSES AND GETTING STAFF BACK-TO-SCHOOL QUICKLY AND STUDENTS, AND WORKING WITH DANNY MILLER AND TRYING TO GET ALL THAT TURNED IN A TIMELY FASHION SO WE CAN NOTIFY PARENTS AS NEEDED AND THAT JUST WAS PRETTY HEAVY, BUT THEN IT DID LIKE THAT SO THAT WAS AWESOME.

WE DID HAVE NDEE WITH THE MASK, AND THE N95 AND SHE'LL DO STUFF AS NEEDED WITH OUR DAILY EXPOSURES.

HOME TESTING WAS A LOT BIGGER DEAL LAST YEAR AND SO THAT WAS A NEW CHALLENGE FOR US AS NURSES TO GET THAT DOCUMENTATION FROM THE FAMILIES AND FROM STAFF AND TO PROVE THAT THEY DID HAVE COVID AND FOR THEIR ATTENDANCE AND EVERYTHING, SO THAT WAS A NEW CHALLENGE.

WE DID WORK A LOT CLOSELY WITH THE COUNSELORS AND THE PARENTS AND STUFF THROUGH THE MENTAL ILLNESS AND STUFF, WE NOTICED THERE WAS MORE ISOLATION AND DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY AND STUFF FROM THE PAST YEARS OF COVID AND STUFF,

SO THAT WAS A NEW CHALLENGE DEALING WITH OUR FAMILIES AND KIDS THAT WE HAD TO DEAL WITH.

WE DID WORK A LOT MORE WITH REFERRALS AND THAT THING FOR THEM.

THE COMMUNITY, WE NOTICE WE HAD AN INCREASE IN PHONE CALLS, JUST COUNSELING PARENTS AND FAMILIES, WHETHER IT WAS WITH ILLNESS OR DONE FOR CHILD'S EMOTIONAL STATE OR ANYTHING.

WE DID NOTICE AN INCREASE IN THAT JUST TRYING TO HELP FAMILIES THROUGH WHATEVER CHANNELS THEY WERE GOING THROUGH.

WE DID NOTICE THAT WE DID ADMINISTER OVER 28,000 MEDICATIONS LAST YEAR.

ASTHMA AND RESPIRATORY ILLNESSES WERE ON THE RISE AND WE DID THOSE WE HAD JUST AN INCREASE IN VIRAL ILLNESSES AS A WHOLE.

THE END OF THE YEAR, IT DID GET BETTER AS WE WERE ABLE TO DO A LOT MORE NURSING CARE AND ONE-ON-ONE, SO WE JUST LOOK FORWARD HONESTLY INTO THIS YEAR BEING MORE NORMAL THAN GIVING THAT ONE-ON-ONE NURSING CARE WITHOUT THE STRESS OF THE COVID, ITS STILL THERE.

BUT JUST BEING NURSES AND THAT IN PERSON CARE, SO WE'RE JUST REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS YEAR BEING A LITTLE MORE INTO THAT.

JUST A QUICK REFRESHER ON THIS ONE.

OF COURSE, OUR LAST PLAN WAS 2016 - 2021.

THIS ONE WAS DEVELOPED LAST FALL AND EARLY SPRING.

SOME OF YOU WERE A PART OF SOME OF THOSE PROCESSES, WE STARTED WITH SUMMITS, IN OUR COMMUNITY LAST FALL, WE HAD PANELS OF STUDENTS, THAT NOT ONLY SHARED THEIR CONCERNS AND THEIR POSITIVES AND THE THINGS THEY WISH THEY HAD MORE OF AND LESS OF AND WHATEVER THAT MAY BE, AND THEY ANSWERED QUESTIONS BOTH FROM OUR MODERATORS AND FROM THE COMMUNITY THAT WE RECORDED THAT AND CAPTURE THAT, AND THEN WE HAD FOCUS GROUPS HERE, CASEY, WE HAD TEACHERS, THE COMMUNITY ADMINISTRATORS, WE HAD STUDENTS OF MANY AGES, THAT WERE A PART OF THAT IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS AND SOME PROFOUND THINGS COME OUT OF THOSE ROOMS, SPECIFICALLY FROM STUDENTS, SOME EYEBROWS RAISING THINGS.

I THINK IT'S REALLY IMPRESSIVE TO HEAR THEM TALK ABOUT THE WAY THEY WANT TO LEARN, THE THINGS THAT THEY WANT TO BE ABLE TO FOCUS IN ON.

IN ADDITION TO VIDEOTAPING ALL OF THOSE SO WE COULD CAPTURE ALL THE COMMENTS, EVERYONE IN OUR FOCUS GROUPS ALSO TOOK SURVEYS ON IPADS AND WE CAPTURED ALL OF THAT DATA.

AND THEN FROM THE SUMMIT AS WELL, AND WE PRESENTED THAT TO OUR CREATE TEAMS, AND SO SOME OF YOU ARE ON THOSE, AND THAT WAS TWO DAYS, BIG SMILES.

[OVERLAPPING] THOSE TWO DAYS WHERE THE COMMUNITY DISTRICT CAMPUS ADMINISTRATORS, TEACHERS, COUNSELORS, YOU NAME IT, INCLUDING STUDENTS THAT WERE IN THAT ROOM HELPING COME UP WITH THE DIRECTION OF WHAT THIS PLAN WOULD LOOK LIKE.

I THINK THOSE OF YOU THAT WERE THERE KNOW THOSE STUDENT VOICES CARRYING A LOT OF WEIGHT IN THAT ROOM AS WELL, AND THEY WERE REALLY GREAT FEEDBACK.

FROM THAT COLLABORATION, WE CAME UP WITH A CALL TO ACTION.

I'LL HEARKEN BACK TO THE 2016 PLAN, YOU CAN SEE THE FRIENDSHIP WAY, WHICH WAS A PART OF THAT PLAN AND COMMUNICATING IT.

YOU CAN SEE IT RIGHT HERE IN THIS CALL TO ACTION AS FAR AS SERVICE AND POSITIVE IMPACT, AND AN INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT.

THOSE ARE ALL THINGS THAT WE COMMUNICATED OUT OF WHAT OUR CULTURE IS ABOUT, AND SO YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY ARE IN THE CALL TO ACTION.

WE TOOK THAT AS A GROUP AND BUILT OUTCOMES TO PROVIDE THE FOUNDATION FOR WHAT THIS PLAN WOULD BE.

WHAT DO WE WANT FRIENDSHIPS STUDENTS AND LEARNERS TO WALK OUT THE DOOR AS HAVING EXPERIENCED OR DONE, OR TO BE READY TO DO.

AND SO THIS WAS THE FOUNDATION FOR WHAT WE WOULD TAKE FORWARD AND TURN INTO A PLAN AND YOU HAVE THE NEXT PIECE OF THAT IN FRONT OF YOU.

YOU HAVE THE GOALS.

SO SIX GOALS WERE DEVELOPED AS FAR AS PART OF THIS STRATEGIC PLAN, AND THAT CONCLUDED THE WORK OF THE CREATES SIDES.

SO WE WALK OUT WITH SIX GOALS THAT WILL GUIDE US OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS IN THE WORK THAT WE DO AT FRIENDSHIP.

AND WE WENT INTO THE FALL, AND WE TOOK A GROUP OF ADMINISTRATORS AND HAD A DESIGN TEAM.

AND SO OVER A FEW DAYS, BROKE THESE OUT INTO RESULTS AND WORKED ON ACTION PLANS AND WAYS THAT WE CAN MAKE THIS WORK HAPPEN.

AND SO YOU HAVE THOSE IN FRONT OF YOU AS WELL.

OUR YEAR 1 SPECIFIC RESULTS THAT I'LL REPORT TO YOU QUARTERLY STARTING TONIGHT.

YOU CAN SEE THE LEADER FOR EACH OF THE GROUPS THAT WILL BE WORKING ON THAT WORK FOR THIS YEAR.

WE HAVE, SIX OF THEM HERE IN YEAR 1, AND THERE ARE SOME BIG THINGS TO TAKE CARE OF THERE.

SPECIFICALLY TONIGHT I WANTED TO POINT OUT A COUPLE HERE AND I HAVE A COUPLE OF SLIDES FOR YOU.

3.2, A SYSTEM ABOUT RETENTION OF EMPLOYEES, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT RHONDA HAS A TEAM WORKING ON RIGHT NOW.

BUT I WANTED TO POINT OUT SOME OF YOUR WORK AND SOME OF YOUR ACTIONS AS PART OF THIS WORK AS WELL, AND SO RETENTION INCENTIVES, RECRUITMENT INCENTIVES, SALARY INCREASES, SALARY STUDIES THAT KIND OF WORK WILL PLAY INTO WHAT THIS PLAN LOOKS LIKE AND HELP US HAVE THOSE TOOLS IN THE TOOLBOX, TO TAKE THIS FORWARD, AND FOR RHONDA'S TEAM TO TURN THIS INTO THAT SYSTEM AS FAR AS INCENTIVIZATION GOES FOR RETENTION.

I ALSO WANTED TO MENTION 4.3 MRS. HUB IS LEADING A TEAM THAT'S MOSTLY COUNSELORS, AND THEY'RE WORKING ON WHAT COUNSELORS DO AND WHAT THEIR DAILY WORK LOOKS LIKE AND WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THE BEST OUTCOMES FOR FRIENDSHIP STUDENTS, AND THAT WORK AND CONVERSATION REALLY BEGAN OVER THE LAST SCHOOL YEAR.

AND SO ALONG WITH WHAT'S PLAYING INTO THIS AND CHANGING WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE FOR THEM, WE RE-TITLED OUR CAMPUS INTERVENTION SPECIALISTS TO BE DATA INTERVENTION SPECIALISTS AND ADDED THEM TO FIVE OF OUR ELEMENTARY CAMPUSES.

THEY'RE ALREADY ON OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPUSES.

SO THAT REALLY OPENED UP THE TIME OF COUNSELORS TO DO THE WORK OF A COUNSELOR, AND SO NOW THEY GET TO WALK INTO A ROOM AND DO SOME RESEARCH AND FIGURE OUT HOW THEY CAN BE THE MOST IMPACTFUL FOR STUDENTS AFTER SOME OF THOSE CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE.

TO TAKE US FORWARD AND LOOK AT A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES HERE, DR. MCCORD AND TIFFANY ARE LEADING A TEAM THAT ARE GATHERING INPUT AND LOOKING AT THE FUTURE DECISIONS THAT WE NEED TO MAKE IN THIS DISTRICT AND HOW TO MAINTAIN EQUITABILITY.

OF COURSE, RIGHT NOW WE'RE LOOKING AT MIDDLE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE BOUNDARIES, SO THIS WORK IS HAPPENING IN THE MOMENT.

WE HAD OUR TOWN HALLS IN OCTOBER, THAT'S AN EXAMPLE THERE AT THE BOTTOM OF WHAT SOME OF THAT LOOKED LIKE GOING OUT AT TIGER TAILS.

THE TOP PART IS A SNIP THAT WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU FROM OUR WEBSITE THAT LED INTO A WEBSITE WITH A TON OF INFORMATION WITH ENGLISH AND SPANISH PRESENTATIONS OF THE PLAN.

OF COURSE, TIFFANY HAD USED ALL OF OUR CHANNELS AND OUR MEDIA PARTNERS TO GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THOSE TOWN HALLS.

AND SOMETHING NEW WAS BUILDING OUT OF BOUNDARIES EMAIL THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO USE EVEN THOUGH THOSE TOWN HALLS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS CAN STILL COME IN.

I BELIEVE RICHARD SPECIFICALLY LOOKS AT THOSE AND RESPONDS TO THOSE.

IN OUR TOWN HALLS WERE ALL FILMED AND THE VIDEOS ARE UP ON THE WEBSITE NOW FOR ANYONE WHO COULDN'T ATTEND, THEY CAN SEE WHAT THE QUESTIONS WERE AND SEE THE PRESENTATION LIVE, IN ADDITION TO SEEING ALL OF THE SLIDES THERE, ON THE WEBSITE.

THEN, THE NEXT PIECE, AND THIS REALLY CAME FROM OUR STUDENTS IN THE STRATEGIC PLAN, THEIR PERCEPTION OF WHAT SEEK PERFECTION CAPTURE EXCELLENCE MEANT.

AND IT WAS VERY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT OUR PERCEPTION OF IT WAS.

AND THAT WAS GREAT FEEDBACK.

IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO HEAR, AND SO TIFFANY HAS A TEAM WORKING ON THIS, THIS WORK STARTED OVER THE SUMMER SPECIFICALLY TO PREPARE FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR.

SO ON THE LEFT, THAT'S OUR NEW HIRE ORIENTATION, WE MAKE SURE THAT WE COMMUNICATED THE INTENT AND THE HISTORY OF SEEK PERFECTION CAPTURE EXCELLENCE WITH THEM.

ON THE RIGHT, THAT'S OUR LEADERSHIP KICKOFF, CINDY COBB DID SOME WORK WITH ALL OF OUR CAMPUS AND DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS THERE AND WENT THROUGH A PROCESS AND AN ACTIVITY OF SHARING WHAT THAT MEANS TO US AND WHAT OUR PERCEPTIONS OF IT ARE.

THE DISTRICT'S PAYING 92 PERCENT OF THE EMPLOYEES OVERALL PREMIUM.

ON THE NEXT ONE IS 89 PERCENT, 82 PERCENT, 70 PERCENT, AND 60 PERCENT.

IF YOU LOOK AT HOW MUCH WE'VE GONE UP, OF COURSE YOU CAN SEE AN 18, 19 AND 20 THAT WE HAD A RATE CAP THERE.

YOU CAN SEE THEY'RE ALL THE SAME.

THEN IT WENT UP JUST A LITTLE BIT AND THEN WENT DOWN A LITTLE BIT IN A COUPLE OF THE PLANS FROM $22-$3, AND THEN ADD A LITTLE BIT TO 25.

EVEN FOR THIS YEAR, THE MOST AMOUNT THAT EMPLOYEES HAD TO PAY IS A $22 NOW IT'S GONE TO 25 FOR EMPLOYEE ONLY.

THIS IS $24.92.

I FELT LIKE THAT WAS A GOOD WAY TO SHOW YOU SO WHEN EMPLOYEES ARE ASKING YOU QUESTIONS, WE'RE ALSO GOING TO SHOW THIS INFORMATION AND TALK ABOUT THE PERCENTAGE THAT THE DISTRICT IS PAYING ON THEIR BEHALF AND INSURANCE IS JUST NOT GOOD ANYWHERE.

WE DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO NEGOTIATE THOSE PROCESS AND KEEP THEM AS FAR DOWN AS WE CAN.

WE'RE DOING THE BEST YOU CAN WITH INSURANCE.

WE'LL CONTINUE TO BE THERE AND NEGOTIATE AND TRY TO DROP THE PROCESS DOWN.

WE'RE GIVING A WELLNESS PROGRAM WHICH WILL HOPEFULLY THAT'S HELPING US DROP THE PROCESS DOWN AND THAT PREMIUM STAMP OR WE'RE DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN AND WE'LL CONTINUE TO SEARCH FOR WAYS TO SAVE OUR EMPLOYEES MONEY ON THEIR SIDE. [OVERLAPPING] IT ADDS SOME FLEXIBILITY SO THAT WE HAVE SOME NEGOTIATING POWER, BUT IT ALSO ADDS A LOT OF EXTRA TIME, AND RESOURCES TO TRY TO GET THE BEST DEAL, AND TO MAKE SURE WE'RE PROVIDING THE BEST WE CAN TO OUR EMPLOYEES.

I WILL TELL YOU THAT I SIT ON A COMMITTEE FOR THE REGION SERVICE CENTER BECAUSE WE'RE NOT A MEMBER OF TRS ACTIVECARE, BUT TRS HAS GONE TO REGIONALIZE PRESSING, SO THEY SEE WHAT MEDICAL CARE COSTS PER REGION, AND SO THE PREMIUMS MAY REFLECT THE DIFFERENCE IN THAT.

HE WAS OUR DELEGATE AND MCLEIGH SHE WENT AS WELL AS THE ALTERNATE DELEGATE, BUT ALSO ATTENDED ALL THE SESSIONS.

I WOULD SAY THAT WHILE WE FACE CHALLENGES ON SELF POINTS, CERTAINLY IT'S NOT EASY, BUT IT MAKES ME FEEL VERY GRATEFUL.

WHEN I GO TO CONFERENCES LIKE THAT AND SEE SOME OF THE CHALLENGES THAT WE FACE JUST ON A BIGGER SCALE, MORE TEACHER SHORTAGE.

THEY'RE DEALING WITH SOME OF THIS FAST GROWTH DISTRICTS LIKE OURS, THEY ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUES WITH GETTING THEIR BOND PROJECTS COMPLETED.
