WE'LL DO THIS CONSTRUCTION UPDATE IN THREE PORTIONS.

I'LL BASICALLY GIVE YOU AN OVERHEAD VIEW OF THE FACILITY AND TELL YOU WHAT'S HAPPENING WHERE AND FOLLOWED BY SOME PICTURES.

AND WE'LL GIVE YOU A BRIEF UPDATE ON THE DAMAGE.

[INAUDIBLE]. SO KIND OF MOVING FROM THERE.

LET'S START WITH THE NEW ELEMENTARY WITH THE EXTERIOR BLOCK WALLS, APPROXIMATELY 90% COMPLETE.

THE ROOF JOISTS ARE NOW HANGING ACROSS AREAS A THE GYMNASIUM IN AREA C IN 75% OF THE CLASSROOMS IN AREA B.

METAL DECKING IS INSTALLED COVERING APPROXIMATELY 60% OF AREA A AND HVAC CURVES ARE BEING LAID OUT AND ARE ALMOST READY TO INSTALL.

FORMS ARE BEING SET IN PREPARATION TO POUR FLOORS IN AREA A ALONG WITH SIDEWALKS SURROUNDING THE SCHOOL OUT BY THE STREET.

THE ELECTRICIANS HAVE 75% OF THEIR REVENUES BURIED UNDERGROUND, WHILE THE PLUMBERS ARE DOWN TO FINAL ADJUSTMENTS AND SHOULD BE COMPLETE WITH THEIR ROUGH DRAFT BY THE END OF THE WEEK. THIS PROJECT IS COVERING A LOT OF GROUND QUICK AND SEEMS TO BE ON TRACK TO BE OPEN IN THE FALL OF 2024.

SO WHAT WE HAVE HERE, WE HAVE AN OVERALL VIEW OF THE SCHOOL.

THIS PARTICULAR SLIDE IS PROBABLY ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF OLD, BUT YOU CAN SEE OVER ON YOUR RIGHT HAND SIDE, THAT'S A CLASSROOM, LITTLE ROCK CLASSROOM ADDITION.

DECKING IS GOING ON ABOVE THAT.

NOW, LIKE I SAID, THIS THIS IS ABOUT A WEEK OLD.

AND THEN ABOVE THAT, YOU HAVE THE CLASSROOM PORTION WITH THE WRAPPING UP THE BLOCK.

THIS IS ACTUALLY UNDER SECTION A, THIS WOULD BE THE SOUTHEAST SIDE.

IT'S A CLASSROOM ADDITION.

BUT YOU SEE THE DECKING IS IN, THIS IS ACTUALLY THE PORTION OF THE BUILDING THAT'S GOING TO GET A CONCRETE FLOOR POURED PROBABLY THIS WEEK OR NEXT OR POURING IT UP RIGHT NOW.

SO MAKING GOOD TIME THERE.

THIS IS AN OVERALL VIEW OF THE NORTH SIDE OF THE SCHOOL WITH ALL THE BLOCK UP KIND OF STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A SCHOOL.

SEE, THE GROUNDS ARE CLEAN.

AND THIS IS THE SIDEWALK THAT I WAS REFERRING TO POURED OUT BY THE STREET.

SO THIS IS A THE JOIST SET IN THE STORM SHELTER.

AND TAKE NOTE HOW THICK THE STEEL BEAMS ARE ON TOP OF THAT FACILITY.

THEY'RE PROBABLY 18IN THICK.

THE REASON FOR THAT IS THIS ACTUALLY GETS A CONCRETE CAP.

THIS IS THE STORM SHELTER AREA.

SO IT IS IT IS SERIOUSLY REINFORCED.

THAT'S A LOT OF STEEL. THIS IS AN EXTERIOR WALL ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE FACILITY.

THIS IS JUST KIND OF GIVE YOU A CLUE OF WHAT THE COLORS ARE GOING TO LOOK LIKE.

IT'S KIND OF AN ACID WASH, SO IT'S A LITTLE ROUGH.

BUT IF YOU NOTICE, YOU HAVE YOUR YOUR REDS AND YOUR GRAYS IN THE CENTER PORTION AND THE PROTRUDING AREAS OF THE BUILDING, YOU'LL HAVE THAT LIGHT BROWN RIBBON AROUND THERE.

IT GIVES SOME CONTRAST.

SO IT'S A GOOD LOOKING DESIGN.

OKAY. THESE ARE THE ROOF JOISTS AND WALLS IN THE STORM SHELTER.

THE REASON WHY I INCLUDED THIS IS ONE OF THE FIRST BLOCK STORM SHELTERS THE DISTRICT HAS BUILT.

AND SO WHAT HAPPENS IS IS THEY THEY BUILD A BLOCK WALL.

THEY FILL EVERY CORNER WITH CONCRETE REINFORCED STEEL.

THE TOP THEY BRING THE REINFORCEMENT UP AND THEY TURN IT BACK TO 90 WHERE THE ROOF IS.

SO ON TOP OF THAT JOIST, THEY'LL LAY DOWN THEIR STEEL DECKING, THE CONCRETE REINFORCING.

AND THEN WHAT'LL HAPPEN IS THAT THAT REINFORCEMENT WILL TIE BACK TO THE STEEL 90 REINFORCEMENTS.

SO IT BASICALLY BUILDS A CONCRETE SHELL, THUS THE STORM SHELTER.

IT'S AN INTERESTING PROCESS.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MAIN DISTRIBUTION CENTERS FOR THE ELECTRICAL.

SO OUT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE FACILITY, THEY SAID A TRANSFORMER ABOUT A WEEK, WEEK AND A HALF AGO THAT'S POPPED INTO THIS AREA.

THIS AREA WILL HAVE A MAIN SWITCHGEAR, WHICH IS THEN PIPE TO SUB PANELS, WHICH PROVIDES ELECTRICITY FOR DIFFERENT PORTIONS OF THE BUILDING, DIFFERENT EQUIPMENT AROUND THE BUILDING. SO MOVING RIGHT ALONG BEFORE WE MOVE ON TO THE FUTURE HIGH SCHOOL, JUST NOTE THAT THIS BUILDING DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY HAIL DAMAGE.

ALL WE HAVE OUT THERE RIGHT NOW IS JUST CONCRETE AND STEEL.

NOT A LOT OF DAMAGE DONE AUTOMATICALLY.

MOVING ON TO THE FUTURE HIGH SCHOOL, AS THE LAST OF THE WALLS PANELS WERE STOOD UP IN AREA.

Q THE ROOF JOISTS HAVE NOW BEEN SET IN AREA C AND P AND ARE WRAPPING UP OVER AREA Q.

STEEL BEAMS AND FLOOR JOISTS ARE BEING SET IN AREA S AND STEEL CREWS ARE EXPECTED TO FALL BACK TO AREA C, Q AND P AND START DECKING WITHIN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. NO LONGER NEEDED CASTING BEDS ARE BEING DEMOLISHED ACROSS THE SITE TO MAKE ROOM FOR BLOCK LAYERS, ANOTHER STEEL FRAMING.

WHILE DART CREWS HAVE STARTED EXCAVATING AREAS A AND B AND OTHER STEEL FRAMING, WHILE THE DART CREWS HAVE STARTED EXCAVATING AREAS A AND B AROUND THE COMPETITION PIT, CONCRETE CREWS ARE DIGGING AND POURING FOOTINGS IN AREAS J.

AND H, ALONG WITH MECHANICAL CREWS WHICH ARE WORKING ON THEIR RUBBINGS IN PREPARATION FOR BLOCK LAYERS WITH OVER 10,000 YARDS OF CONCRETE ALREADY POURED, THIS PROJECT APPEARS TO BE ON TRACK AND MOVING ALONG NICELY.

THIS IS AN OVERALL RENDERING OF THE HOSPITAL AND YOU CAN KIND OF SEE OVER TO YOUR LEFT HAND SIDE.

WE HAVE OUR COMPETITION PIT NEXT TO IT.

AND THEN IF YOU KIND OF LOOK BEHIND THE STEEL STRUCTURE, YOU'LL SEE OUR OUR PRACTICE AREAS.

THE TWO STORM SHELTERS ON THE AREA ARE THE PRACTICE GYM AREA, WHICH IS BEHIND THAT STEEL STRUCTURE.

AND THEN ONE IMMEDIATELY TO THE LEFT OF THAT STEEL STRUCTURE, WHICH IS YOUR.

MAKING GOOD TIME. A FEW WEEKS AGO, OR ACTUALLY A MONTH OR SO AGO, DURING THE PRESENTATION I SPOKE OF, YOU KNOW, THERE'S NO LONGER GOT THEIR HAND FINISHED IN CONCRETE ANYMORE. THEY HAVE THESE MACHINES THAT DO IT NOW THAT MAKE, YOU KNOW, A LOT FASTER, BETTER, STRONGER AND SO FORTH.

AND I JUST THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A NEAT LITTLE PICTURE OF THE BUMPER BUGGIES OUT THERE CRUISING AROUND.

AND THEN KIND OF BEFORE WE JUMP ON TO THE ALCOVE TRAILS, WE'LL TALK ABOUT THE HAIL DAMAGE.

AND THERE WASN'T ANY ON THIS FACILITY EITHER, CONCRETE AND STEEL.

SO EVERYTHING WAS PRETTY SOLID.

OKAY. ON THE ALCOVE TRAILS MIDDLE SCHOOL AS THE FINAL COATS OF PAINT ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING, THE ROOFING CREWS WERE BUSY LAYING DOWN NEW BASE AND CAP SHEETS AND SPRAYING GRAVEL.

THE FINAL PIECES OF GLASS AND WINDOW FRAMING ARE BEING DELIVERED, ASSEMBLED AND INSTALLED AROUND THE CLEAR STORY IN AREA D, WHILE THE PARKING LOTS ARE GOING DOWN ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING. CLEANING CREWS ARE POLISHING UP IN AREAS E, F AND G, AND CLASSROOM FURNITURE IS EXPECTED TO BE DELIVERED IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF

WEEKS. OFFICE FURNITURE HAS BEEN DELIVERED AND IS BEING SET UP AN ADMINISTRATION IN AREA B WHILE THE FINAL COATS OF TOUCH UP STANDING PAINT ARE BEING APPLIED TO THE WALLS AND MILLWORK IN AREA B, THE KITCHEN EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN SET.

CEILINGS ARE HUNG AND THE CAFETORIUM WALL PROTECTION IS GONE ON THE WALLS AND THE STAGE EQUIPMENT IS SCHEDULED TO GO ON FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

IN AREA A, THE ATHLETIC AREA RUBBER FLOOR IS INSTALLED IN THE MATTE ROOM.

WALLS ARE BEING PAINTED AND THE SCHEDULE TO BE DELIVERED BY THE END OF THE MONTH WITH EVERYTHING HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

THIS PROJECT SHOULD BE ON TRACK TO BE SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETED AND READY FOR SCHOOL TO START NOW ON THE HAIL DAMAGE ON THIS SCHOOL BEFORE [INAUDIBLE].

BUT I'LL KIND OF DO IT HERE.

WE DID RECEIVE A LITTLE HAIL DAMAGE ON THE ROOF AND ON SOME EXPANSION SHEET.

THE ROOFING WAS APPROXIMATELY ON THE VERY LEFT HAND SIDE OF AREA C, AND WE SEE ABOUT FOUR CLASSROOMS THERE.

WE HAD THE BASE SHEET ON THAT THAT TOOK ON SOME DAMAGE AND THEN A LITTLE BIT OF THE AREA AT THE TOP OF AREA A AND THEN SOME EXPANSION JOINTS SCATTERED AROUND.

SO WE'VE MET WITH THE MANUFACTURERS AND REMEDY BACK ON BACK ON TRACK REALLY SUCCESS TO MAKE SURE IT DIDN'T HURT THE INTEGRITY OF THE ENVELOPE NOR DID IT [INAUDIBLE] THAT WAS A REALLY IMPORTANT FACTOR.

SO THAT'S KIND OF THE DAMAGE THAT WE RECEIVED ON THAT.

SO KIND OF MOVING ON FROM THERE.

THE SBOE AND TEA DIDN'T PROVIDE ANY GUIDANCE OR ANY CURRICULUM ON THAT.

AND SO IN DISCUSSING THIS WITH THE SHAC, WITH OUR PARENTS, OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, OUR STAFF, THE SHAC HAS MADE IT HAS A RECOMMENDATION TO NOT PROVIDE INSTRUCTION.

AND SO IN 2021, THE HEALTH TEXTBOOK AND CURRICULUM DOCUMENTS OR CURRICULUM RESOURCES WERE UP FOR ADOPTION FOR RENEWAL, JUST LIKE SOCIAL STUDIES, ALGEBRA, ALL OF THOSE.

WELL, IT GOT REALLY POLITICAL BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T DECIDE WHAT SHOULD BE TAUGHT BECAUSE YOU HAD THE MORE LIBERAL VIEWPOINT AND THE MORE CONSERVATIVE VIEWPOINT.

AND SO IT'S LIKE SOME WERE AFRAID.

WE'VE NOT EVER TAUGHT GENDER IDENTITY, NON-BINARY LGBTQIA QUESTION MARK.

WE'VE NOT TAUGHT THAT EVER.

BUT IT WAS HUMAN SEXUALITY WAS TYPICALLY TAUGHT IN HEALTH.

AND SO BECAUSE THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION COULD NOT COME TO CONSENSUS AND TO BE BOLD, DO THEIR JOB, THEY MADE A LAW IN 2021 AND THAT LEGISLATIVE SESSION AND DUMPED IT IN YOUR LAP.

THERE IS NO OTHER SUBJECT OR ANYTHING THAT YOU OR AS A BOARD OR SHAC IS REQUIRED TO COME UP WITH THE CURRICULUM. THAT'S THE JOB OF THE STATE.

AND THEY DIDN'T DO IT.

AND SO THEY DUMPED IT OFF ON THE SHAC.

BASICALLY, WE FELT LIKE THAT IF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE STATUTORILY REQUIRED AND THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION, THEY'RE ELECTED OFFICIALS, IF THEY CAN'T COME TO CONSENSUS, I DON'T THINK IT'S APPROPRIATE FOR THAT.

THAT'S JUST AND OUR SHAC DIDN'T EITHER.
