IT'S NOT SURPRISING TO ME THAT HE WANTED TO DO THIS COMPETITION BECAUSE HE WAS MAKING ONE HUNDREDS IN MY CLASS AS A PRE AP CHEMISTRY STUDENT BUT HE DID A PHENOMENAL JOB.
YOU SCORE A 30 OUT OF 60, YOU'RE DOING PRETTY GOOD, AND HE WENT WELL OVER THAT. WE'RE VERY PROUD OF HIM.
THOMAS, CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING OUR FIRST NATIONAL QUALIFIER FOR NATIONAL FINALIST.
[APPLAUSE] CORRECT. I'D LIKE TO ADD THAT TOO.
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT THIS HAS GOT US STARTED ON IS IT'S REALLY INSPIRED THOMAS TO WANT TO BUILD THIS PROGRAM UP AT OUR SCHOOL AND NOT ONLY DO CHEMISTRY OLYMPIAD, BUT ALSO BIOLOGY OLYMPIAD AND SEVERAL OTHER STEM FOCUSED ACADEMIC COMPETITIONS.
HE'S ALREADY GATHERED A TEAM AND NEXT YEAR, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE OUR FIRST STEM CLUB AT FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL. [APPLAUSE]

ONE OF OUR STUDENTS CAN'T BE WITH US THIS EVENING [INAUDIBLE].
THESE TWO LADIES HAVE NOT ONLY REPRESENTED US AT STATE, BUT THEY WERE ALSO OUR OFFICERS THIS YEAR.
WE HAVE CHLOE WHO IS GRADUATING THIS YEAR, SO SHE'S GOING TO WALK THE STAGE AND WON'T BE WITH US ANYMORE FOR THIS, SO WE'RE SAD ABOUT THAT.
BUT [INAUDIBLE] GETS TO BE HERE NEXT YEAR AGAIN.
ALISON [INAUDIBLE], I'M SORRY, CHLOE LESTER.

THE UIL OFFICE SELECTED HAYES TOWN THIS YEAR,
[00:10:02]
AND THE PROCESS IS QUITE GRUELING AS THEY MUST MAKE A PROMPT ADDRESS, JUSTIFICATION, PAPERS, PLATE THEIR WORK, AND CREATE AN IMAGE BOARD OF THEIR CONCEPTUAL IDEAS AND DESIGNS.AT THE END OF THE DAY, THE WORK BY A GROUP OF FOUR FRENSHIP STUDENTS WAS IDENTIFIED AS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE REGION AND THE GROUP ADVANCED TO THE STATE COMPETITION.

WE MAY NOT BE GOOD, BUT WE LIKE WHAT WE'RE DOING.
I TOLD MY SECOND PERIOD THAT I WAS LIKE, YOU KNOW WHAT, GUYS? WE'VE NEVER ENTERED THIS WELL WE HAVE, BUT SINCE I HAVE BEEN HERE, WE'RE USUALLY WORKING ON THE SECOND MUSICAL.
WE HAVEN'T ENTERED THE COMPETITION SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE FIVE YEARS, SO I PUT IT OUT THERE AND I SAID, LET'S JUST TRY IT OUT AND PUT OUR WORK OUT THERE AND GO FOR SEVENTH CHAIR.
SEVENTH OR NOTHING IS WHAT WE'RE GOING FOR.[LAUGHTER] WE PUT NINE PEOPLE AND ALL OF THEIR WORK, AND IT DOES A LOT OF A LOT OF WORK.
THESE GUYS MADE IT PAST, THEY SAID THERE WERE 1,200 ENTRIES THIS YEAR, 40% MORE THAN EVER AND THEY GOT FOUR IN THE STATE.[APPLAUSE] THE WENT AS A GROUP, YOU COULD GO INDIVIDUALLY OR AS A GROUP.
GROUPS ARE HARD, I FOUND ON THE FACEBOOK WEBSITE OF UIL THEY'RE LIKE, OUR GROUPS ARE BREAKING UP, THEY'RE ALL MAD AT EACH OTHER.
NOT OUR GROUP, THIS GROUP WENT IN.
THIS IS ALEXANDRA PHILLIPS AND SHE WAS THE COSTUME DESIGNER, AND SHE MADE HER VERY OWN COSTUME THAT ACTUALLY FIT A REAL PERSON THE ONLY PERSON IN SIX STAY THAT ACTUALLY MADE THE ACTUALIZATION OF A DESIGN, NOT JUST A DRAWING, SO I THOUGHT THAT WAS REALLY NEAT.
COURTNEY BLACKMAN WAS A SET DESIGNER AND DID THE GROUND PLAN AND THEN THE FULL IDEA OF THE WHOLE WORLD THAT THEY WERE CREATING THROUGH HADESTOWN.
HALLY BOGER DID THE MAKEUP AND HAIR ON SOME OF OUR FRENSHIP STUDENTS AND SOME MODELS, SO TO SPEAK.
OLIVIA PADRON DID THE MARKETING LIKE MISS TIFFANY OVER HERE SHE'S PULLING PEOPLE INTO OUR JOY.
THEN WE HAD TO GO TO STATE AND PRESENT IN FRONT OF JUDGES, TALK ABOUT WHAT WE DID, AND TALK ABOUT OUR CONCEPT.
IT WAS QUITE A GRUELING EXPERIENCE, BUT THEY NAILED IT LIKE CHAMPIONS.
MAN WE WENT WAY BEYOND SEVENTH CHAIR, SO IT WAS A REALLY REALLY INTERESTING AND NEAT AND GOOD LEARNING EXPERIENCE THAT WE'RE VERY PROUD OF.
I NOW PRESENT TO YOU, ALEXANDRA PHILLIPS, COSTUME DESIGNER.[APPLAUSE] COURTNEY BLACKMAN SET DESIGN [APPLAUSE] HALLY BOGER HAIR AND MAKEUP DESIGN [APPLAUSE] AND OLIVIA PADRON WHO DID MARKETING.[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU VERY MUCH WELL OKAY.

THEY BOTH ARE EXCELLENT IN THE CLASSROOM BOTH OF THEM HAD 100 AVERAGE.BOTH GREAT LEADERS FOR OUR TEAM, AND THE REST OF THE KIDS REALLY LOOKED UP TO THEM, ACTUAL COACHES OUT ON THE GOLF COURSE.
I THINK THEY LISTENED TO THEM MORE THAN THEY DIDN'T ME PROBABLY.

LIKE THEY SAID WE HAVE TWO THAT QUALIFY FOR ACADEMIC ALL STATE HONORABLE MENTION.
THAT WOULD BE HUNTER GOSSETT AND LANE MONROE.
AGAIN, TO HAVE REPRESENTATION AT THE ACADEMIC LEVEL AT THE STATE LEVEL IS QUITE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT.
I DIDN'T KNOW THEY HAD TO BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE COACH, I MIGHT HAVE [LAUGHTER] THEY'RE THEY'RE GREAT KIDS WE'RE GOING TO MISS THEM TREMENDOUSLY THEIR LEADERSHIP AND SO ON.
HUNTER WELCH, AGAIN, IS YOUR REGION ONE GOLD MEDALIST.
HE WON THE REGION ONE PREVIEW AS WELL EARLIER THE YEAR IN THIS SEMESTER AND PLUS SOME OTHER TOURNAMENTS, SO TO GET THAT DONE WAS QUITE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE PLAYING AGAINST HOLLAND PARK AND ALLEN AND GREAT GOLF TEAMS LIKE THAT.
THEN TO QUALIFY FOR STATE, DIDN'T PLAY AS WELL AS WE WANTED TO, BUT VERY VERY PROUD OF HIS ACCOMPLISHMENT AND GETTING THERE AND HE REPRESENTED US WELL, SO HUNTER WELCH IS OUR SENIOR.[APPLAUSE] [BACKGROUND]

THERE'S NO TIME TO COACH THEM.
THEY HAVE TO BE INTELLIGENT PLAYERS ON THE FIELD AND I ALWAYS BELIEVE THAT IT'S A DIRECT CORRELATION OF WHY WE ARE SO SUCCESSFUL ON THE FIELD BECAUSE OF WHAT THESE GIRLS ARE CAPABLE OF DOING OFF THE FIELD, AND SO I'M SO HAPPY TO BE HONORING THEM TODAY TO RECOGNIZE THEIR DEVOTION, NOT ONLY ON THE FIELD, BUT OFF.
WE GOT A TREMENDOUSLY SUCCESSFUL SEASON GOING AS FAR AS ANY OTHER FRENSHIP SOCCER TEAM HAS EVER GONE AND FARTHER THAN ANY OTHER TEAM THAT WE'VE HAD A FRENSHIP THIS YEAR.

TONIGHT, WE HAVE UNIFIED TRACK AND FIELD COACHES, CASEY SMITH AND AARON TOMLINSON TO HELP US RECOGNIZE THEIR ATHLETES.
>> FIRST OFF, I GET TO DO A LITTLE UNIQUE SITUATION THIS YEAR.
THIS YEAR, I GET TO TALK ABOUT IT FROM A MOM STANDPOINT.
MY SON CATCHER HAD KNEE SURGERY EARLY ON IN FOOTBALL SEASON CAUSING HIM TO SIT OUT THE ENTIRE SEASON.
IT WAS A HUGE BLOW. OUR FAMILY HAS ALWAYS BEEN WAITING TO DO IS PLAY FOOTBALL FOR FRENSHIP.
IN PURE DUST AND RUSH FORM, HE GOT IN READY FOR TRACK SEASON, BUT CATCHER CHOSE TO THE UNIFIED INSTEAD, WHICH MADE HIS MOM VERY PROUD, OF COURSE.
BUT IT WAS A DECISION THAT HE MADE ON HIS OWN.
HE WAS DOWN, I THINK LAST SEASON.
HE HAD A HARD TIME WANTING TO EVEN FIND ALMOST A PURPOSE TO COME TO SCHOOL.
UNIFIED, AS SOON AS THAT SEASON STARTED TO HAPPEN, I GOT TO SEE A CHANGE IN CATCHER.
HE ENDED UP FINDING A NEW GROUP OF FRIENDS SOME OVER AT THE HIGH SCHOOL, WHICH MAKES HIS MOM HAPPY.
HE'LL ALREADY HAVE FRIENDS SET READY TO GO.
I GOT TO WATCH A SMILE ON HIS FACE AGAIN, AND I WAS EXCITED TO SEE HIM COMPETING.
HE MADE TONS OF FRIENDS AND GREW AS A PERSON.
WHEN I ASKED HIM EARLIER TODAY WHAT HIS FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT UNIFIED WAS, HE SAID, MAKING NEW FRIENDS LIKE TRAY AND JP, COMPETING AND BEING ABLE TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING SO COOL AND SO FUN, DEFINITELY THE BEST PART OF MY YEAR.
IF YOU WERE TO ASK ANY OF US ON THE TEAM RIGHT NOW WHAT ONE WORD DESCRIBED US, I THINK YOU CAN SAY FAMILY.
UNIFIED IS NOT JUST A SEASON, AND I THINK THAT'S WHAT'S SO UNIQUE ABOUT IT.
THIS PROGRAM PUTS US TOGETHER AS TEAMMATES AND TURNS US INTO A FAMILY.
WE SUPPORT, LOVE, RESPECT ONE ANOTHER ALL YEAR LONG AND THROUGHOUT LIFE.
ONE OF JP'S THINGS THAT NEEDS SAID BEFORE IS HE CONSTANTLY TALKS TO TWO OF HIS TEAMMATES FROM THREE YEARS AGO STILL.
ALL OF THE TIME, THEY SEND HIM MESSAGES WISHING HIM WELL AND TALK TO HIM THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
THAT'S NOT JUST ABOUT SPORTS, THAT'S ABOUT UNIFIED.
MEMORIES OUR TEAM SAID THAT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER IS MATT GETTING FIRST.
[LAUGHTER] SECOND CRISIS BODY IN OUR BRAIN AND EAR FORMS ADJUST TO GET SECOND WITH [INAUDIBLE] OUR BUS TRIPS GETTING EVERYONE READY FOR PROMISED TEAMMATES AND THE BROKEN RECORDS THAT WERE SET, THE NEW PRS THAT WERE SET.
TREY WALMERE GOING OUT FIRST PLACE STATE CHAMPION THAT HE'S BEEN WANTING TO DO SINCE HE WAS A FRESHMAN, AND THAT'S SOMETHING THE WHOLE TEAM WANTED FOR HIM.
NOT JUST THE TEAM, WHAT WAS REALLY COOL ABOUT TREY IS WATCHING LIVER LAND, EMILLA, AND EVERYBODY CHEER PORTRAY, WHICH IS UNHEARD OF JUST AT A TRACK MEETING, YOU TRY TO CHEER AGAIN.
[LAUGHTER] BUT WE WERE ALL CHEERING PORTRAY.
THAT'S JUST WHAT I WANTED TO SAY, AND I KNOW COACH T AND HANNAH FARRIS HAVE SOME STUFF TO SAY AS WELL.
>> FIRST OF ALL, I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR ALL YOU POUR INTO THIS PROGRAM.
THIS IS A REALLY NEAT PROGRAM AND I WANT YOU ALL TO GO ON FACEBOOK SOME TIME, THE UNIFIED FACEBOOK PAGE.
CAMDEN RACE IS REALLY GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES, AND HE'S REALLY CAPTURED A LOT OF THESE STRAIGHT MEMORIES AND SHOWS THAT THIS IS A FAMILY AND WHAT IT MEANS TO US.
I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO IN THERE AND LOOK AT THOSE VIDEOS.
ALSO, WE'RE RECOGNIZING THE ATHLETES BUT ALSO, I WANT TO RECOGNIZE THE STUDENT COACHES.
IF YOU WERE A STUDENT COACH, WOULD YOU STEP FORWARD? [NOISE] [BACKGROUND] THESE GUYS GUYS CAN COACH THE TEAM WITHOUT US.
THEY REALLY HELP CASEY AND I OUT A WHOLE LOT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND SO I JUST WANT TO RECOGNIZE THEM AND SAY, THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT Y'ALL DID AS WELL.
HANNAH AND JP ARE ON OUR REGIONAL COMMITTEE FOR UNIFIED FORCE IN OUR REGION.
HANNAH IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT TODAY SOME OF OUR ACHIEVEMENTS THAT WE DID THIS YEAR.
>> FIRST OFF, ON BEHALF OF [NOISE], I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR CHANGING TIME TO RECOGNIZE
[00:40:01]
