ON MONDAY, WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO CONGRATULATE FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR GUNNER CLAYBROOK ON BEING NAMED THE FFA NATIONAL CHAMPION FOR THE SPECIALTY CROP PRODUCTION PROFICIENCY THIS SUMMER.

GUNNER WAS NAMED ONE OF FOUR NATIONAL FINALISTS FOR THE PROFICIENCY AWARD, A DISTINCTION EARNED THROUGH DEDICATION AND SUCCESS AT THE DISTRICT, AREA AND STATE LEVELS.

AS A RESULT, AG TEXAS FARM CREDIT SERVICES PRESENTED A $2,000 CHECK TO FRENSHIP FFA TO HELP COVER THE TRAVEL AND COMPETITION EXPENSES TO THE NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION IN INDIANAPOLIS.

GUNNER AND THE OTHER THREE FINALISTS FROM ACROSS THE NATION WENT THROUGH A RIGOROUS SERIES OF INTERVIEWS TO DETERMINE THE FINAL WINNER, AND ON OCTOBER 31ST, GUNNER TOOK THE NATIONAL STAGE AT THE NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION TO NOT ONLY REPRESENT FRIENDSHIP, BUT THE ENTIRE STATE OF TEXAS.

HE BROUGHT HOME FIRST PLACE IN SPECIALTY CROP PRODUCTION PROFICIENCY.

TONIGHT WE HAVE FFA ADVISOR AND OUR LEAD AG INSTRUCTOR, ANGELA VAN GUNDY, TO HELP RECOGNIZE HIS INCREDIBLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

>> HE'S THE STAR OF THE SHOW. HE IS FANTASTIC.

WE ARE SO BLESSED FOR FRIENSHIP FFA TO HAVE THIS SHOW AND HE HAS DONE EVERYTHING.

HE DOES NOT COME FROM A TRADITIONAL AGRICULTURAL BACKGROUND BUT A FRESHMAN.

HE JUMPED IN ALL THE WAY, ALL THE WAY IN THE DEEP END AND HAS BEEN GOING AS FAR IN AS WE AS HE CAN GO.

WE'RE SUPER DUPER PROUD OF HIM.

I ALSO LEARNED TODAY THAT HE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED INTO TEXAS TECH HONORS COLLEGE, AND HE IS GOING TO GO PICK OUT A DORM THIS WEEK, SO [APPLAUSE].

>> YOU ALL CAN GO RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE TV IN THE PODIUM IS NOT IN THE WAY.

YEAH, WELL, I JUST FEEL LIKE I NEED TO STAND UP.

THIS YEAR WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE URBANIZATION OF AGRICULTURAL LAND IN LUBBOCK COUNTY.

WE JUST SET IT OUT THERE FOR THE JUDGES TO FORM THEIR OWN OPINION, AND THEN WE GET QUESTIONS ASKED ABOUT IT.

WE'RE VERY LUCKY THAT OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORTS US SO MUCH, AND WE GET TO COME AND PRESENT IT TO PEOPLE LIKE OUR SCHOOL BOARD AND CITY COUNCIL AND THE LUBBOCK CITY COUNCIL.

BOTH OF THESE RECOGNITIONS TONIGHT ARE ARE VERY BIG, STATEWIDE AND NATIONAL WIDE.

BUT TONIGHT WE WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE CRESTVIEW ELEMENTARY FIRST GRADE TEACHER SANDRA WIMBERLY, WHO WAS RECENTLY NAMED THE TEXAS OUTSTANDING ELEMENTARY SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER OF THE YEAR.

THIS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD BY THE TEXAS COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL STUDIES RECOGNIZES THE EXCEPTIONAL IMPACT THAT TEACHERS HAVE ON THEIR STUDENTS IN THE SOCIAL STUDIES FIELD.

NOW, BACK IN MAY, WIMBERLY WAS SELECTED AS THE ELEMENTARY SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER OF THE YEAR BY THE STAKED PLAINS COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL STUDIES.

THAT'S THE LOCAL CHAPTER.

AS THE AREA WINNER, HER NOMINATION ADVANCED TO THE STATE LEVEL AND IN LATE OCTOBER, SHE WAS ANNOUNCED AS THE OVERALL 2025 OUTSTANDING ELEMENTARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR FOR THE WHOLE STATE.

ON NOVEMBER 1ST, WIMBERLY WAS RECOGNIZED DURING A SPECIAL CEREMONY AT THE STATE CONVENTION IN FRISCO, AND SHE WAS ONE OF ONLY FIVE EDUCATORS ACROSS TEXAS HONORED AT THE LUNCHEON, AND THE ONLY ONE TO RECEIVE THE AWARD AT THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL.

CRESTVIEW PRINCIPAL GINGER HICKS IS HERE TO HELP US RECOGNIZE HER AWARD.

>> IT IS MY HONOR TO RECOGNIZE MISS SANDRA WIMBERLY, WHO HAS BEEN NAMED AS THE TEXAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE YEAR BY THE TEXAS COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL STUDIES.

I KNEW. WHY IS THERE A PIRATE? [NOISE] THEN EVERYBODY'S LIKE, WELL, BECAUSE IT'S PIRATE WEEK.

AND I'M LIKE, WE HAVE PANTHERS AND TIGERS.

>> I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER SEEN MISS WIMBERLY STRUGGLING WITH SOMETHING TO SAY THAT SHE DOES THINGS WITH, FIRST GRADERS THAT ARE FANTASTIC.

HER STUDENTS EXPERIENCE SOCIAL STUDIES IN A WAY THAT IS MEANINGFUL, JOYFUL, AND MEMORABLE ON OUR CAMPUS.

SHE IS A MENTOR TO NEW TEACHERS, A STRONG COLLABORATOR, AND SOMEONE WHO PUTS STUDENTS FIRST.

HER PASSION FOR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND HER COMMITMENT TO CREATIVE, HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION MAKE HER A STANDOUT EDUCATOR IN A TRUE ASSET TO CRESTVIEW.

WE ARE INCREDIBLY PROUD OF HER.

[2.A. Effectiveness Report on Frenship Foundation]

THE FIRST ONE WILL BE AN EFFECTIVE EFFECTIVENESS REPORT ON FRIENSHIP FOUNDATION FROM MISS TIFFANY TAYLOR.

>> IT'S ALWAYS A GREAT DAY WHEN I GET TO TALK ABOUT THE FRIENSHIP FOUNDATION AND THE IMPACT THAT IT HAS ON OUR TEACHERS AND OUR STUDENTS.

GUNNER, HE WAS AN AG.

THEIR DEPARTMENT WAS TOUCHED BY FRIENSHIP FOUNDATION GRANTS LAST YEAR.

SANDRA GOT A TEACHER GRANT LAST YEAR.

IT'S ALWAYS GREAT WHEN WE GET TO TALK ABOUT THE GOOD THINGS THAT OUR FOUNDATION IS DOING, BUT ALSO THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT THAT HELPS BACK IT.

LAST YEAR ALONE, THE FOUNDATION GAVE OVER $163,000, THROUGH OUR TWO MAIN INITIATIVES.

THAT'S TEACHER GRANTS AND CHARACTER SCHOLARSHIPS.

WE'LL TALK ABOUT TEACHER GRANTS.

FIRST, I PUT THREE YEARS UP THERE OF GIVING.

YOU CAN SEE THAT IN 2023 THAT FALL WE GAVE OUT MORE THAN 65,000 BUT WE JUST HAD OUR PRIZE PATROL CELEBRATION IN SEPTEMBER WHERE WE GAVE OUT MORE THAN $80,000 SO WE'VE ALMOST INCREASED THAT BY 15,000 JUST OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS.

BUT I'M REALLY GOING TO TOUCH ON LAST YEAR BECAUSE THE TEACHERS JUST GOT THEIR GRANTS THIS YEAR IN SEPTEMBER.

WE'RE STILL KIND OF WAITING TO SEE WHAT THE IMPACT IS.

UM, BUT WE'VE HAD A FULL YEAR OF LAST YEAR OF SEEING THE GREAT THINGS THAT OUR TEACHERS HAVE DONE.

LAST YEAR, WE GAVE OUT MORE THAN $76,000 IN TEACHER GRANTS.

THAT WAS 50 GRANTS THAT IMPACTED MORE THAN 86 TEACHERS ACROSS 15 CAMPUSES.

RIDGEWOOD WAS OUR NEW CAMPUS THAT YEAR, AND WE HAD GRANTS MORE THAN, WE GAVE THEM MORE THAN 5600 IN GRANTS LAST YEAR THROUGH A COUPLE OF TEACHER GRANTS.

THE TEACHER GRANTS WERE FUNDED PRIMARILY JUST THROUGH A TEACHER GRANT CAMPAIGN.

WE DIDN'T HAVE AN EVENT TO FUND THOSE GRANTS LAST YEAR SO THOSE WERE PURE DONATIONS COMING IN FROM OUR BUSINESSES AND REALLY, THE BIGGEST PERK FROM THAT WAS PRICE PATROL.

THAT'S WHAT KEEPS OUR DONORS COMING BACK YEAR AFTER YEAR, BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY GET TO PRESENT THE GRANTS TO THE TEACHERS.

WE HAVE CHEER COLUMN MASCOTS, DRUMLINE.

WE PARADE UP AND DOWN THE HALLWAYS TO SURPRISE THOSE TEACHERS AND IT'S A REALLY SPECIAL THING TO GET TO HAVE THOSE BUSINESSES COME IN AND TAKE PART IN THAT AND REALLY SEE WHERE THEIR MONEY IS GOING.

WE HAD 30 DIFFERENT BUSINESSES PARTICIPATE IN PRIZE PATROL LAST YEAR.

THEN UP IN THE TOP CORNER, UH, THE BIG GROUP PICTURE, THAT WAS ACTUALLY SOMETHING SPECIAL THAT WE DID LAST YEAR.

MANY OF YOU KNOW WHO JERRY KING IS, HE WAS A LONG TIME FRIENSHIP COACH.

HE PASSED AWAY LAST YEAR, AND HIS FAMILY GRACIOUSLY, TOLD PEOPLE THAT IF THEY WANTED TO SUPPORT OR DO SOMETHING IN HIS HONOR TO DONATE TO THE FRIENSHIP FOUNDATION.

THROUGH THAT, WE HAD MORE THAN $1,300 COME IN, IN HIS HONOR AND SO HIS WIFE, WHO'S A RETIRED TEACHER, AND HIS SON, WHO HAPPENS TO WORK AT FRIENDSHIP.

THEY ACTUALLY GOT TO COME AND PRESENT TEACHER GRANTS DURING PRIZE PATROL IN HIS HONOR.

THAT WAS VERY SPECIAL AND THEN AGAIN, JUST THIS YEAR LAST WELL, NOT LAST MONTH ANYMORE.

IN SEPTEMBER, WE GAVE OVER $80,000 IN TEACHER GRANTS.

THAT WAS 57 GRANTS THAT TOUCHED MORE THAN 90 TEACHERS ACROSS ALL 16 CAMPUSES.

THAT'S THE FIRST TIME SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE THAT EVERY SINGLE CAMPUS HAS GOTTEN A TEACHER GRANT.

THAT WAS ALSO REALLY COOL AND SO THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THOSE GRANTS IN ACTION UP AT THE TOP, THAT'S THE BENNETT EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASS.

THOSE ARE THREE AND 4-YEAR-OLD, THEY RECEIVED ABOUT A DOZEN TRICYCLES AND THOSE WERE TO HELP DEVELOP AND ENHANCE GROSS MOTOR SKILLS LIKE BALANCE STABILITY, BUT ALSO TO HELP BUILD THEIR CONFIDENCE, CONFIDENCE AND INDEPENDENCE.

THEY USE IT DURING RECESS AND ADAPTIVE P.E AND MISS HERNDON WHO RECEIVED THAT GRANT, WHO CHELSEA ACTUALLY PRESENTED TO.

SHE SAID THAT SHE'S ALREADY SEEN A TREMENDOUS GROWTH IN HER STUDENTS WITH THOSE BICYCLES OR WITH THOSE TRICYCLES.

BELOW THAT, THE AQUATIC SCIENCE AT FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL, THAT WAS NEARLY A $6,000 GRANT THAT IMPACTED ALL THREE OF THE AQUATIC SCIENCE TEACHERS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.

BASICALLY, IT ALLOWED THE CLASSROOMS TO FEATURE A VARIETY OF AQUATIC ANIMALS AND ECOSYSTEMS,

ALLOWING THEM TO ACTUALLY EXPLORE, FRESHWATER AND MARINE ECOSYSTEMS UP CLOSE, AND REALLY BRINGING SCIENCE TO LIFE IN THE CLASSROOM.

THE TEACHER SAID THAT IT ADDED, WELL, THE LECTURES ARE FUN HE SAID THAT IT ADDED A LEVEL OF EXCITEMENT AND CURIOSITY, TO THE CLASSROOM UP IN THE TOP CORNER.

THAT'S OUR GIFTED AND TALENTED CLASS.

THEY ACTUALLY RECEIVE SO FAR AGAIN, SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE, THEY'VE RECEIVED A TEACHER GRANT EVERY SINGLE YEAR FOR THEIR BIG GT PROGRAM AND IT IMPACTS EVERY SINGLE ELEMENTARY THAT WE HAVE.

UM, BUT THIS ONE IN PARTICULAR, IT WAS A HANDS ON THEIR ANCIENT EGYPTIAN DIG KITS SO THE KIDS ACTUALLY GO IN WITH CHISELS AND HAMMERS AND BRUSHES, AND THEY GET TO UNCOVER ARTIFACTS COLLECTIVELY AS A GROUP AND LEARN ABOUT THE EGYPTIAN CULTURE.

THEN THE ONE BELOW THAT IS THE LEGACY PLANT GROWTH CARTS THAT WAS SECOND GRADERS AT LEGACY AND REALLY, IT'S JUST A HANDS ON LEARNING EXPERIENCE WHERE THEY GET TO GROW THOSE PLANTS RIGHT INSIDE THE CLASSROOM, LEARN ABOUT THE PLANT CYCLE, GROW A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW VEGETABLES ARE PRODUCED, AND REALLY AN APPRECIATION OF GROWING PLANTS.

YOU CAN SEE THAT A LOT OF THESE GRANTS THAT WE FUND ARE VERY HANDS ON BUT IT'S NOT JUST A REGULAR LESSON.

IT'S REALLY BRINGING IT ALIVE IN THE CLASSROOM AND MAKING IT A FUN LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR OUR STUDENTS.

IN OUR TEACHER, WHEN OUR TEACHER GRANT COMMITTEE, WHEN THEY'RE GOING THROUGH THOSE GRANTS, THOSE ARE THE TYPES OF THINGS THAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR IS REALLY FUNDING THOSE INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE LESSONS AND THEN MOVING ON TO CHARACTER SCHOLARSHIPS.

WE ACTUALLY AWARDED THE LARGEST NUMBER OF STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS IN ONE YEAR THAT WE'VE EVER GIVEN IN THE FOUNDATION'S HISTORY, THAT WAS 65 STUDENTS.

YOU CAN SEE BOTH WITH TEACHER GRANTS AND OUR CHARACTER SCHOLARSHIPS THAT WE CONTINUE TO INCREASE THOSE YEAR AFTER YEAR.

WE HAD 61 FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS THAT WERE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS IN MAY.

THEN WE HAD FOUR RECENT GRADUATES THAT WERE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS BETWEEN THE DECEMBER AND MAY GRADUATION AND THEN WE ALSO INCREASED THE AMOUNT OF THE SCHOLARSHIP BY $100 TO 1350.

>> WE ALWAYS LOVE TO RECOGNIZE THOSE STUDENTS DURING OUR ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT.

IT'S OUR LONGEST RUNNING FUNDRAISER THAT THE FOUNDATION HAS.

IT STARTED IN 2004.

THEN I'M ALSO PROUD TO SAY THAT THIS IS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL GOLF TOURNAMENT THAT WE'VE HAD TO DATE.

IT'S THE FIRST TIME THAT WE HAVE HAD A NET PROFIT OF MORE THAN $100,000, WHICH IS PRETTY GOOD WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT WE'RE HAVING THIS GOLF TOURNAMENT AT GOLF SUITES, IT'S NOT YOUR TRADITIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT.

THEN ONE THING THAT WE HAVE STARTED TO ADD OVER THE YEARS IS WE HAVE STARTED TO RAFFLE OFF GIFTS FOR THOSE SENIORS.

THE GENTLEMAN RIGHT THERE, HE ACTUALLY WON A BRAND NEW LAPTOP THAT WAS PROVIDED BY OUR TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT.

WE HAD OUR CULINARY STUDENTS PROVIDE THE DESSERTS.

THEN OUR FLORAL DESIGN STUDENTS MADE ALL OF THE CENTERPIECES AND THEY KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK.

THOSE TWO ARRANGEMENTS RIGHT THERE IN THAT BOTTOM CORNER WE AUCTIONED THOSE OFF DURING THE LIVE AUCTION, AND THEY TOGETHER IT WAS ALMOST $1,000 THAT WE BROUGHT IN JUST FROM THOSE TWO ARRANGEMENTS.

THEN OUR AGED KIDS MADE THAT FIRE PIT.

WE PAIRED THAT WITH SOME CHAIRS AND IT WENT FOR $5,500.

OUR STUDENTS ARE NOT ONLY BENEFITING IN THE CLASSROOM FROM OUR TEACHER GRANTS, BUT THEY ARE THEN GIVING BACK TO THE FOUNDATION AND HELPING US RAISE MORE MONEY TO CONTINUE GIVING TO OUR STUDENTS AND KIDS. ANY QUESTIONS?
