MR. FRANK HERNANDEZ, PRINCIPAL AT FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL, IS HERE TO HELP US RECOGNIZE THESE STUDENTS.

THANK YOU BOARD FOR ALLOWING ME TO INTRODUCE THESE TWO FINE YOUNG MEN.

THEY ARE TWO OF RECEIVING A CERTIFICATE TONIGHT FOR THE NATIONAL HISPANIC RECOGNITION PROGRAM. IT'S AN INVITATION FROM COLLEGE BOARD, AND IT WAS EXTENDED TO STUDENTS WHO SCORED IN THE 2.5 PERCENT AMONG HISPANIC OR LATINO 11TH GRADE PSAT AND [INAUDIBLE] TEST TAKERS IN OUR REGION. THEY ALSO HAVE A CUMULATIVE GPA OF 3.5 OR HIGHER. AND THESE STUDENTS HAD TO COMPLETE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION WHERE THEY WERE EVALUATED AND THEY WERE ALSO RECOGNIZED BY COLLEGE BOARD.

BECAUSE OF THIS NOTABLE RECOGNITION T HESE YOUNG MAN HAVE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE TO THEM. WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS THESE TWO FINE YOUNG MAN HAVE ACHIEVED.

AND THEY ARE JOSHUA [INAUDIBLE] AND MARCUS [INAUDIBLE].

SO CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF THEM.

SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO EARNED A CHAIR IN THE 2020 TEXAS MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION ALL STATE CHOIR. I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE FHS CHOIR DIRECTOR MRS AMY MOSS TO SHARE MORE ABOUT HER STUDENTS AND THEIR SUCCESS.

GOOD EVENING AND THANK YOU SCHOOL BOARD. AT THIS TIME WE'RE VERY EXCITED TO HONOR OUR STUDENTS. WE'VE HAD THREE STUDENTS, ONE OF WHICH COULD NOT BE HERE TONIGHT.

SHE HAD SOME COMMITMENTS WITH [INAUDIBLE] THAT SHE'S IN [INAUDIBLE]REALLY QUICKLY, SO SHE NEEDED TO BE THERE FOR THAT. WE WANTED TO RECOGNIZE THESE TWO STUDENTS.

THEY ALL PARTICIPATE IN THE ALL STATE CHOIR AUDITIONS.

THIS PROCESS WAS A VERY ARDUOUS PROCESS.

IT STARTS BACK AS EARLY AS JUNE OF THE PREVIOUS SUMMER AND THEY GO THROUGH T HERE ARE PARTICULAR STUDENTS WENT THROUGH FOUR ROUNDS.

NORMALLY THERE'S THREE.

AND WE ADDED AN EXTRA ROUND THIS YEAR IN OUR REGION.

AND SO THEY WENT THROUGH FOUR DIFFICULT ROUNDS OF AUDITIONS TO BE SELECTED FOR THE [INAUDIBLE] ALL STATE CHOIRS.

THIS IS ABOUT T HEY MAKE IT INTO ABOUT THE TOP 2 PERCENT OUT OF ABOUT 16000 STUDENTS THAT START THIS PROCESS ACROSS THE STATE OF TEXAS.

AND FOR THOSE THAT ARE NOT AWARE, [INAUDIBLE] IS THE LARGEST MUSIC EDUCATION CONFERENCE IN THE NATION AND IS INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED.

IT BRINGS PEOPLE FROM ALL ACROSS THE STATES AS WELL AS FROM OUT OF THE US TO TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONFERENCE.

IT'S ABOUT MUSIC EDUCATION AND KEEPING ARTS AND IN THE SCHOOLS, BUT IT ALSO PROVIDES LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR STUDENTS.

MANY COLLEGES PROVIDE LARGE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS [INAUDIBLE] ALL STATE CHOIR.

SO THAT IS A REALLY EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SE STUDENT PART OF THE PROCESS AS THEY LEARN 10 AROUND COLLEGIATE PIECES AND HAVE TO SIGHT READ MATERIAL THAT THEY'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN A VERY SHORT AMOUNT TIME.

THE AUDITION PROCESS IS A VERY LONG PROCESS, BUT THE ACTUAL AUDITION TAKES ABOUT THREE MINUTES IF THAT. AND SO IT'S A VERY SHORT SNAPSHOT OF MUSIC THAT THEY POLISHED AND PREPARED AND THE SKILLS THAT THEY DEMONSTRATED AT EACH AUDITION.

AND THEN THEY GET TO SPEND ABOUT A WEEK OR HALF A WEEK WITH THE CLINICIAN THAT BRINGS THEM. AND FURTHER POLISHES THAT MUSIC FOR PERFORMANCE FOR THE CONFERENCE.

SO WE WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE [INAUDIBLE].

SHE'S A THIRD YEAR AL-SAKAR.

NEXTT UP THERE WERE SIX ALL-STATE BAND MEMBERS WHO EARNED [INAUDIBLE] THIS YEAR IN THE TEXAS MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION, WE HAD TWO ALL STATE QUALIFIERS AND FOUR FIRST ALTERNATES. TONIGHT FHS BAND DIRECTOR TOM SORELLE IS HERE TO HELP US CONGRATULATE THESE STUDENTS ON THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS, MR. SORELLE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU FOR RECOGNIZING THE STUDENTS.

WE'RE VERY PROUD OF THE STUDENTS UP HERE.

THEY REPRESENTED FRENSHIP IN THE ALL STATE PROCESS THIS PAST WEEKEND.

I'M NOT SURE WHAT [INAUDIBLE] TOLD YOU, BUT I'LL TELL YOU A COUPLE OF THINGS.

WE STARTED OUT WITH SEVENTY ONE THOUSAND STUDENTS AROUND THE STATE AUDITIONING AT THE FIRST LEVEL. AND WHEN IT FINALLY COMES DOWN TO THE END 2.5 PERCENT, THOSE STUDENTS ARE SELECTED AS ALL STATERS IN ALL STATE CHOIR, ALL STATE BANDS AND ALL STATE ORCHESTRAS.

[INAUDIBLE] WHO ARE ALL STATERS DID THEIR AUDITIONS LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT THE END OF THE AUDITIONS. THE BAND PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO SELECT WHICH GROUP THEY WANT TO BE IN.

THERE'S A SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND A PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, CONCERT BAND, [INAUDIBLE] BAND AND CONCERT BAND. AND BASED ON THEIR PLACEMENT IN [INAUDIBLE], THEY NEED TO SELECT THE POSITION. OUR 2 STUDENTS PLACED VERY HIGH.

AND BOTH TELL ME THAT THEY SELECTED TO BE IN THE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, MAINLY BECAUSE THEY'D NEVER BEEN IN AN ORCHESTRA BEFORE.

AND THEY'RE BOTH FINE MUSICIANS AND THEY'RE PROBABLY GOING TO CONTINUE.

SO I FELT THAT WAS A GOOD CHOICE TO GET THAT EXPERIENCE.

BUT THE PERFORMANCE THAT [INAUDIBLE] THEY BOTH WERE IN THE SAME GROUP, IN FACT, THEY SIT BESIDE IT WITH ONE BEHIND THE OTHER.

AND IT WAS TERRIFIC. VERY, VERY PROUD OF THEM.

[INAUDIBLE] FIRST IS CAMDEN [INAUDIBLE], CAMDEN'S A TRUMPET PLAYER.

HE'S A TRUMPET PLAYER AND THIS IS HIS SECOND YEAR IN THE ALL-STATE BAND AND HE'S A JUNIOR.

SO WE'RE LOOKING FOR FIRST CHAIR NEXT YEAR.

THE 11TH BEST TRUMPET PLAYER IN THE STATE.

AND THIS IS HIS SECOND YEAR TO BE IN ALL STATE.

YEAH, WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS.

ALSO DISAPPOINTED THAT WE HAD FOUR OTHER STUDENTS THAT WERE SO CLOSE TO MAKING IT JUST

ONE POINT FROM SOME JUDGE SOMEWHERE COULD HAVE CHANGED IT.

BUT THEY DID FABULOUS AT [INAUDIBLE] THE FIRST ONE IS [INAUDIBLE].

AND [INAUDIBLE] IS A BASS TROMBONE PLAYER AND HE'S A SENIOR.

TERRIFIC BASS TROMBONE PLAYER. AND THEN WE HAVE [INAUDIBLE] GREENLY.

THERE SHE IS. [INAUDIBLE] A FLUTE PLAYER.

AND SHE'S A SENIOR AND SHE'S GOING ON TO COLLEGE.

I THINK SHE'S GOING TO BE A MUSIC MAJOR, TOO, AT LEAST PARTIALLY.

[INAUDIBLE]. [INAUDIBLE] IS A FANTASTIC CLARINET PLAYER.

[INAUDIBLE] IF THEY HAD ONE MORE YEAR.

THEY WOULD HAVE KNOCKED IS OUT OF THE PARK, BUT FANTASTIC PLACEMENT.

CONGRATULATIONS. THEN WE HAVE [INAUDIBLE].

AND [INAUDIBLE] IS A TENOR TROMBONE PLAYER, THE SAME AS [INAUDIBLE].

IN FACT, AT THE AREA TRY OUTS FOR ALL STATE [INAUDIBLE] JUST BEAT [INAUDIBLE] A LITTLE BIT OR IT COULD BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

THEY WERE VERY CLOSE TOGETHER. VERY PROUD OF THAT.

AND [INAUDIBLE] AS A JUNIOR.

SPORTS AND FOUND HUGE SUCCESS IN THIS FIRST YEAR.

WE'D LIKE TO EXTEND OUR CONGRATULATIONS TO THREE STUDENTS WHO COMPETED IN THE E-SPORTS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ON FEBRUARY 6 AND REPRESENTED THE DISTRICT VERY WELL.

TONIGHT, WE HAVE THE E-SPORT COORDINATOR JOE BARNETT AND E-SPORTS COACH NICHOLAS COPELAND. COME ON UP JOE.

HERE TO SHARE MORE ABOUT THEIR AMAZING RUN TO THE STATE FINALS.

I CAN TELL YOU THERE'S OVER TWELVE HUNDRED HIGH SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE THAT ARE CURRENTLY PARTICIPATING. THERE'S CLOSE TO 500 UNIVERSITIES THAT OFFER THAT CLUB AND THE CURRENT COUNT IS A LITTLE OVER 300 O FFER A SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE TOP PERFORMERS.

AND SO WHEN THEY HAD THEIR TOURNAMENT, FIRST OF ALL, [INAUDIBLE] WAS EXCITED BECAUSE THE TRAVEL BUDGET WAS PRETTY MUCH NOTHING BECAUSE THEY JUST WENT DOWN THAT HALL.

E-TRAVEL. YEAH, YOU CAN PARENTS CAN WATCH IT LIVE AT HOME OR IN THIS CASE.

IT WAS A SMALL VENUE IN THE SMALL THEATER OF THE HIGH SCHOOL.

IT WAS A PRETTY RAUCOUS GROUP THERE.

LOTS OF CHEERING AND IT WAS VERY EXCITING.

AND WE PLAYED GRAPEVINE THAT'S BEEN AROUND A COUPLE OF YEARS AND THEY WERE THE DOMINANT FORCE AND WE PRETTY MUCH BOTH CAME INTO THE MATCH UNDEFEATED, WHICH WAS KIND OF EXCITING

AND TOOK THEM, YOU KNOW, PRETTY MUCH ALL THE WAY AS FAR AS YOU COULD AND JUST CAME UP A LITTLE BIT SHORT. BUT FOR THE FIRST I GUESS THE FIRST SEMESTER I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY GOOD, BUT [INAUDIBLE] REALLY JUMPED IN, DID THE RECRUITING.

[INAUDIBLE] GOT GREAT KIDS, SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON HIS OWN TIME.

HE WENT TO A COACHING CLINIC FOR SUMMER AND GOT SPUN UP AND READY TO GO.

HE'S DONE AN AWESOME JOB. I'D LIKE TO THANK THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, DR.

MCCORD AND MR BARNETT.

I'D ALSO LIKE TO EXTEND THE THANK YOU TO MR [INAUDIBLE] ON THE CAMPUS ADMINISTRATION FOR SUPPORTING THIS VERY UNIQUE GROUP OF ATHLETES.

RECENTLY AT TCEA, WHEN I WAS THERE FOR AUSTIN, E-SPORTS WAS THE BUZZ WORD.

AND I WILL TELL YOU ALL, WE ARE FAR AND ABOVE WHAT THE REST OF THE STATE IS DOING A S FAR AS E-SPORTS IS CONCERNED, A LOT OF THE COACHES CAME TO ME AND SAID, HOW DO YOU GET SUPPORT? HOW DID YOU GET FUNDING? HOW DID YOU GET ANYTHING? AND I JUST KIND OF SHEEPISHLY SAID, I DON'T KNOW.

IT JUST HAPPENED. LIKE WE HAD SUPPORT AND WE HAD WE HAVE THE RIGHT PEOPLE DOING IT.

SO WE REALLY ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY.

THE KIDS STARTED COMPETING IN SEPTEMBER.

WE HAD TRYOUTS. WE HAD AN EIGHT WEEK LONG SEASON AND THEN A FIVE WEEK LONG PLAYOFFS.

I BROUGHT A COUPLE OF THE SUBS BECAUSE THEY ALSO HELPED COMPETE DURING THE PLAYOFF TIME IN JANUARY. SO I WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT TO YOU [INAUDIBLE] HENRY AND NATHANIEL MARTINEZ.

I THINK YOU'LL SEE. AND THEN CHRISTIAN HANSEN IS NOT HERE.

BUT ALSO THIS IS JEREMIAH NEWMAN AND [INAUDIBLE].

AND BASICALLY, WE DO SOME COMMUNITY SERVICE.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE DO IS WE HELP ORGANIZE THE FOOD BEFORE WINTER.

AND THERE IS A LOT OF FOOD THAT'S BEEN DONATED BY ROTARY AND OTHER SOURCES.

BUT IT'S IT'S OUR JOB.

IT'S A BIG JOB, ISN'T IT? OH, YES. IT'S A LOT OF FOOD.

AND WE ORGANIZE THE FOOD AND THEN WE HAVE YOUNGER STUDENTS COME IN AND PACK THE BACKPACKS. AND THEN I THINK WE PACKED 130 SOME ODD BACKPACKS OR MORE.

AND THE CHILDREN TOOK THOSE HOME SO THAT THEY WOULD HAVE FOOD TO EAT FOR THE TWO WEEKS THAT WERE OUT OF SCHOOL.

AND THEN ALSO, I JUST RELY UPON THEM IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT SOMETHING OR A CONCERN ABOUT SOMETHING. WHEN YOU'RE 53 AND YOU'RE OVER HERE IN THIS OFFICE, IT'S HARD TO REALLY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE HEARTS AND MINDS AND LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE.

SO THEY HELPED ME OUT IN THAT REGARD TO ASK THEIR ADVICE ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS.

AND THE E-SPORTS THING WAS WAS BIG.

BUT I TELL THEM EVERY TIME I SEE THEM THAT THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT, THE MOST FUN AND THE MOST THING I'D LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY SIX WEEKS IS TO GET TO SEE THEM AND TO SPEND TIME WITH THEM. AND THEY, DON'T I SAY THAT.

YEAH. AND THEY LOOK AT YOU LIKE [INAUDIBLE].

BUT I'M NOT KIDDING. IT IS.

SO I GET KIND OF DISCONNECTED FROM THE YOUTH AND THE ROLE THAT I HAVE.

BUT IF YOU'RE AROUND YOUNG PEOPLE OF TODAY, AND I THINK IN A LARGE PART, THEY KIND OF GET A BAD RAP. AND THERE ARE A LOT OF GREAT YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WITH A HEART FOR SERVICE WHO ARE NO DOUBT GOING TO GO OFF AND DO MORE GREAT THINGS.

YOU'VE ALREADY DONE GREAT THINGS, BUT IT'S NOT THE GREAT THINGS THAT YOU'RE GONNA DO THAT MAKES US PROUD OF YOU. IT IS THE CHARACTER THAT YOU HAVE AND THE ATTRIBUTES OF SERVANT LEADERSHIP THAT YOU HAVE THAT MAKES US MOST PROUD.

THE FIRST EVENT I'D LIKE TO SHOWCASE IS THE REGION 17 ADAPTIVE FIELD DAY.

DESPITE DRIZZLY SKIES, THE FRENSHIP SOCCER STADIUM FILLED WITH SMILES AND LAUGHTER FOR FOUR HUNDRED STUDENTS AND TWO HUNDRED VOLUNTEERS AND EDUCATORS FROM AROUND THE REGION.

ADAPTIVE PE TEACHERS PUT THEIR MINDS TOGETHER TO CREATE NEARLY TWO DOZEN STATIONS THAT ENCOURAGE EXERCISE WITH RELAYS AND GAMES LIKE TUG OF WAR, WHICH IS A FAN FAVORITE, HOOP RING TOSS, BOWLING AND A FOOTBALL DASH.

EACH ACTIVITY WAS CREATIVELY MODIFIED SO THAT EITHER INDIVIDUALLY WITH A PEER OR ASSISTANCE FROM A VOLUNTEER, ALL STUDENTS COULD PARTICIPATE.

MOST OF THESE STUDENTS WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE BEING INVOLVED IN REGULAR SPORTS AT SCHOOL.

SO WE CREATE EVENTS LIKE THIS SO THEY CAN DAWN THEIR TEAM SHIRTS AND INTERACT WITH PEERS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT.

FOLLOWING FIELD DAY, THE [INAUDIBLE] TEAM HOSTED OUR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS, ENROLLED IN EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION OR OUR LIFE SKILLS CLASSROOMS FOR INDOOR TRICK OR TREAT FESTIVAL. AND IF YOU HAVE EVER WONDERED IF THERE IS A TRANSFORMATION [INAUDIBLE] THE ANSWER IS YES [INAUDIBLE] HALLOWEEN, YOU CAN TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE PICTURES THERE.

AND I THINK PART OF OUR CNI DEPARTMENT WAS TURNED INTO THE WIZARD OF OZ.

AND DOWN NEAR RICHARD'S OFFICE, WE HAD A W ALL SET OUT FOR CLASSROOM PICTURES THERE.

SO NOT ONLY DID THE FRENSHIP FAMILY ENJOY THE EVENT, BUT IT ALSO DEFINITELY BRINGS OUT THE COMPETITIVE NATURE AMONG THE DEPARTMENTS AND [INAUDIBLE] WITH DECORATIONS AND COSTUMES. AND NOT ALL OF THE STUDENTS COULD ENJOY A SWEET TREAT.

SO THEY [INAUDIBLE] STAFF ADJUSTED THEIR OPTIONS AND PROVIDED ITEMS SUCH AS SPOOKY ACCESSORIES, SILLY STRAWS AND BUBBLES.

THAT'S A FUN EVENT. THAT'S IMPRESSIVE.

YOU REALLY HAVE TRANSFORMATION THIS DAY.

AND I THINK YOU HOSTED A CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEETING AS WELL.

[INAUDIBLE] AND OUR COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT WAS DRESSED LIKE CHARACTERS FROM PETER PAN.

SO THEY CAME IN AND THEY DIDN'T THINK OF AS FUNNY AS WE DID.

THE LIFESKILLS TEACHERS HAD THIS IDEA LAST YEAR.

THEY HAD A FOOD TRUCK IN THEIR CLASSROOM AND THEY WANTED TO FIND A WAY TO GET THE WHOLE SCHOOL INVOLVED. AND THEY APPLIED FOR A GRANT FROM THE FRENSHIP FOUNDATION AND WERE SELECTED AS WINNERS.

SO THESE STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO PRACTICE FINANCIAL LITERACY AND FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS, GOOD

HYGIENE AND SOCIAL SKILLS.

AND THEY ALL HAVE A ROLE SUCH AS A BARISTA, A GREETER, A SERVER OR A CASHIER.

OUR KIDS PARTICIPATE IN MANY ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND SEVERAL OF THEM HAVE EVENTS COMING UP THIS WEEK.

BUT THESE WERE THE THREE THAT I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT FOR YOU TONIGHT.

WE'VE ALREADY HEARD FROM THESE AMAZING E-SPORTS STUDENTS TONIGHT BUT IN THE SUMMER OF 2019 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT THE E-SPORTS LAB WAS BORN.

SO THIS SPECIFIC RESULT ADDRESSES PRIORITIZING FURNITURE AND CLASSROOM DESIGNS THAT ARE CONDUCIVE WITH COLLABORATIVE LEARNING SPACES.

WE PLAN TO MAKE THIS A COURSE STARTING IN THE FALL OF NEXT YEAR.

AND JUST IN THEIR FIRST YEAR, THE FRENSHIP E-SPORTS PROGRAM IS ALREADY TURNING HEADS IN THE GAMING WORLD. SO THEY'RE NOW RANKED NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE STATE.

AND FRENSHIP BEAT CINCO RANCH HIGH SCHOOL IN THE SEMI FINALS.

ALSO, IN THE SPRING OF 2019, WE RENOVATED CLASSROOM SPACE FOR REESE TO BE A COLLABORATIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WITH NEW FURNITURE, TECHNOLOGY AND READING MATERIALS.

WE'RE PROUD TO PARTNER WITH THE FRENSHIP FOUNDATION IN THAT PICTURE J UST ON ON THE LEFT THERE, THEY'RE THE SPONSOR OF THE TEACHER GRANT PROGRAM.

THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP FUND INNOVATIVE IDEAS THAT WILL ENRICH STUDENT ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AS WELL AS HEIGHTEN THE EDUCATION EFFORTS OF OUR TEACHERS.

AND LAST YEAR, THE FOUNDATION OR THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS IN TEACHER GRANTS.

IT'S AMAZING. IN ADDITION, ALL STAFF ENTERING THEIR FIRST YEAR OF TEACHING WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE FIRST YEAR TEACHER ACADEMY, WHERE LEARNING IS REALLY TAILORED TO SPECIFICALLY TO THE NEEDS OF FIRST YEAR TEACHERS.

ANOTHER SUPPORT THAT WE PROVIDE TO RETAIN TEACHERS IS OUR INSTRUCTIONAL COACH.

AND YOU CAN SEE INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES EXCUSE ME.

GOAL NUMBER TWO, WE WILL ENSURE AUTHENTIC LEARNING EXPERIENCES AND ASSESSMENTS AND THE RESULT IS JUST CREATE A MENU OF PRODUCT BASED AND PRESENTATION BASED ASSESSMENT OPTIONS.

SO I'M PROUD TO JUST REALLY TALK ABOUT SOME THINGS THAT THAT ARE CURRENTLY HAPPENING.

THE CONSTRUCTION STUDENTS ARE PREPARING FOR AN UPCOMING BRICK AND MORTAR COMPETITION AND THE FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL CULINARY AND ENGINEERING PROGRAMS COMBINED FORCES FOR CO-CURRICULAR LEARNING PROJECT.

SO THE CULINARY STUDENTS DREW IDEAS FOR COOKIE CUTTER DESIGNS AND THEN PARTNERED WITH OUR ENGINEERING STUDENTS WHO TOOK THOSE DRAFTS AND INTO THEIR AND MADE THEM INTO ACTUAL PROTOTYPES. AND SO THE TOP DESIGNS WILL BE PRINTED USING OUR 3D PRINTERS.

SO THOSE ARE JUST A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES OF AND THEN THE PICTURE OF COURSE, I HAD TO INCLUDE THOSE AMAZING INSTRUCTORS, BUT THROUGHOUT THE FALL, THE CNI HAS BEEN COMPILING A MENU OF PRODUCT BASED ASSESSMENTS AND PUTTING THEM INTO OUR LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ALL TEACHERS TO ACCESS.

SO THIS S PRING WE'LL COLLABORATE WITH TEACHERS TO FINALIZE THOSE MENUS AND THEN WE'LL EQUIPPED OUR COACHES TO TRAIN ON THESE PRODUCTS AND PRESENTATION BASED OPTIONS.

NOTABLE DIFFERENCES IN THE TWO DRAFTS WERE THE START DATE FOR STUDENTS.

DRAFT A HAD STUDENTS COMING BACK ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12TH AND DRAFT B HAD STUDENTS COMING BACK ON MONDAY, AUGUST 17, THE START DATE FOR STAFF ON BOTH DRAFTS WERE ON AUGUST 5TH AND DRAFT A WOULD HAVE BEEN FIVE STAFF DAYS BEFORE THE START OF SCHOOL AND DRAFT B WOULD HAVE BEEN EIGHT STAFF DAYS.

AND ONE OTHER NOTABLE DIFFERENCE WAS THE EXTRA STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY ON DRAFT A, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN ON MARCH 22ND FOLLOWING SPRING BREAK.

AFTER THE INITIAL COMMITTEE MEETING ON JANUARY 15TH, WE OPENED UP A SURVEY INTO THE COMMUNITY TO GAIN FEEDBACK FROM PARENTS, STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ON WHICH DRAFT THEY PREFERRED. WE DISTRIBUTED THE SURVEY THROUGH [INAUDIBLE] WHICH REACHES EVERY PARENT WE HAD OUT ON OUR WEBSITE.

WE DISTRIBUTED IT THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA AND THEN COMMITTEE MEMBERS SENT THE SURVEY TO THEIR RESPECTIVE CAMPUSES.

THE SURVEY OPENED FROM JANUARY 15TH THROUGH JANUARY 2 2ND, AND WE HAD A TOTAL OF ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY NINE RESPONSES.

THE SURVEY INDICATED THAT THE COMMUNITY'S PREFERENCE WAS DRAFT B AT 74 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL PARTICIPANTS.
